This week, my friend, Deb Zayn, celebrated 100,000 downloads of her podcast, Craft of Consulting!

I had the pleasure of being a guest speaker on episode 150, and the even greater pleasure of celebrating this milestone with her.

Deb’s podcast is now at 186 episodes, and as I reflected, that’s 186 times she showed up.

186 times she shared her expertise. 186 times she put herself out there for clients to find her. 186 times, she didn’t give up.

If there’s one thing I believe with everything in me, it’s that success is inevitable when you don’t give up.

It may take you 186 tries, to hit a big milestone, like Deb.

It may take you 1009 “no”s before your fried chicken recipe gets a yes, like Colonel Sanders of KFC.

It may take you 36 rejections before a publisher accepts your book, like Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post.

Or maybe it’s just taking you a long time to finally get traction. Just like it took 7 years for Lin-Manuel Miranda to compose the now multi-Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, Hamilton.

No amount of time-elapsed, rejections, or discouragement will keep you from success when you have the grit to keep going, despite circumstances.
